For Dayoung Hwang's upcoming exhibition, F.LOW, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive design that included a poster, typography, and stationery. To capture the essence of Hwang's artwork, I took inspiration from the colors of soil and rock, both of which are elements of nature. The typography itself features a color scheme that is both earthy and natural, with a range of hues that are both subtle and impactful. To showcase Hwang's artistic identity, I selected three of her most significant pieces of artwork to feature on the poster. These pieces not only represent Hwang's creative voice but also help to set the tone for the entire exhibition. Given that Hwang often draws inspiration from nature, I knew that the poster and stationery designs needed to incorporate natural elements as well. This meant incorporating organic shapes, textures, and patterns throughout the design. The result is a cohesive and visually striking design that captures the essence of Hwang's artwork and highlights the natural themes that inspire her work.
In addition to the poster, I extended my design efforts to crucial exhibition components such as the floor guide, exhibition name card, and a custom-designed bag as part of the exhibition merchandise. Executed using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, these elements maintain a consistent earthy color palette, cultivating a serene and natural ambiance throughout the exhibition. By deliberately employing a limited color set, I aimed to convey a minimalist atmosphere, aligning with the concept and theme of the exhibition. This holistic approach ensures a coherent and immersive visual experience for attendees.
